2017 Family Literacy/Fitness Night

Over 175 students participated in the annual Family Literacy-Fitness Night at Johnson Creek Elementary School on February 23 from 6:00-7:30! This year the focus was poetry. Upon arrival, students picked up a passport to fill in as they visited eleven different rooms where they wrote different types of poems, played rhyming bingo, read poetry to the Read Dogs, had their picture taken with the school mascot, tasted healthy snacks, danced, visited the book fair, and took part in fitness activities in the gym. Friends of Our School held a basket raffle and student council had their bake sale.  Students collected poems from each room to add to their passports. All students went home with a new book.
