Badger Boy

Congratulations to Jamison Richardt who will represent Johnson Creek High School at Badger Boys State this summer.  His delegation to Badger Boys State is sponsored by the Johnson Creek American Legion Post #305. Jamison is a well-rounded student who demonstrates leadership on a daily basis.  He has played varsity basketball since freshman year and he served as team captain for the past two years. He is also active in track and cross country. Jamison started playing the trombone in 5th grade.  He has carried his interest in music into high school through playing in the band, jazz band, and honors band. In addition, Jamison serves as the student liaison to the Personalized Learning team at Johnson Creek High School.  As a member of the team, he has presented at conferences and attended several additional conferences on Personalized Learning. Jamison advocates for Personalized Learning because he is encouraged to have ownership of his learning and excel in academics at his pace with choice and voice!.  Jamison plans to continue his love of learning at UW Platteville with a major in Forensic Science.

Badger Girl

Congratulations to Rylie Thomas who will represent Johnson Creek High School at Badger Girls State this summer.  Her delegation to Badger Girls State is sponsored by the Johnson Creek American Legion Auxiliary Post #305. Rylie is an avid athlete.  She plays varsity volleyball, basketball, and softball (captain). Further, she displays leadership skills and athletic abilities on a traveling club softball team. Rylie continues her love of sports in the summer by volunteering at the recreation volleyball camps. In addition to sports, Rylie is very active in her church.  She participates in Teen Serve which is a group who travels to neighboring states to fix up houses for people in need. She also sings in the church choir and she has taught Sunday school. In school, Rylie serves as the class president and the editor of the school newspaper. Rylie plans to attend college to become a High School Science teacher and hopes to play softball while in college.
