Elementary Students Learn How to Prepare for a Natural Disaster

With severe weather season fast approaching, nearly 150 students at Johnson Creek Elementary School learned how to be prepared in the event of a disaster or emergency during an event at the school that took place on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. Students had the opportunity to hear from officials from Wisconsin Emergency Management and AT&T to learn about proper planning.

The students are participating in the STEP (Student Tools for Emergency Planning) program for the third year in a row.  The statewide program teaches 5th graders how to be prepared for disasters, how to assemble an emergency kit, and how to develop an emergency plan with their families.  The 2016 STEP program is supported by a $15,000 AT&T donation.
