On Saturday, July 23, Farmington Baseball hosted a series of baseball games against Johnson Creek. The day started at 9:00 a.m. with several youth games and was scheduled to conclude with a Rock River League matchup between the Farmington Flames and Johnson Creek Pioneers, but an intervention from Mother Nature postponed game. Despite the weather cutting it short, the day was successful with concessions, raffles, and lots of camaraderie. All proceeds from the day, a total of $2,000, were donated to One Team One Dream, a fundraising effort for the new Johnson Creek Middle/High School athletic fields.
“Donations from the community like this one are very much appreciated. It’s so great to see so many people pulling together to help the cause,” said Paula Constable, campaign chairperson.
Farmington Baseball would like to thank all those who participated and donated items to make the day a success.
Since its kickoff in June 2015, the One Team One Dream campaign has raised over $810,000. The next fundraising event is the OTOD Golf Outing, set for Thursday, September 22 at the Watertown Country Club. After that, the third annual Run for the Fields is taking place on Saturday, October 8 at the new Johnson Creek MS/HS site. The Johnson Creek Historical Society and the Johnson Creek Mutual Hose Company are also holding a fundraiser to help raise money for the campaign.
