Kindergarten Classes Celebrates Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Day, the kindergarten classes at Johnson Creek Elementary enjoyed a variety of activities within our Dr. Seuss themed unit.

We participated in an all school “Dr. Seuss character dress up day,” had a lot of fun reading silly Dr. Seuss stories, worked with rhyming, wrote our own class books, played games and listened to a Dr. Seuss story from guest reader, Officer Enger of the Fort Atkinson Police Department, telling us to “Stop, Drop Everything, and Read!” We finished our unit with a culminating event of cooking and eating green eggs and green ham.  They were delicious!  We had a great time practicing and making connections with literature, writing, math, and real-life experiences.
