It is with great excitement and humility that I take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new HS/MS Principal and discuss some highlights from our first couple days of school.
Even though I am new to the district I am not new to the area. I had the pleasure to serve the Lake Mills Area School District for six years as a social studies teacher, athletic director, and coach. After receiving my degree in educational leadership, I worked this past year at Brookfield East High School as a member of the administrative team. While I enjoyed my time in Brookfield, the opportunity to serve a community back in the area where I am from and live was too good to pass up.
With the students’ arrival and the beginning of the 13-14 school year, I have to say thank you to the staff, students and community that have made me feel very welcome in these first couple days of school. Our HS/MS staff and students are doing a terrific job adapting to the scheduling/curricular changes that are new this year. In addition to classes resuming, both HS/MS athletics and clubs are in full swing as well. For example, the Johnson Creek High School Band had the opportunity to perform during the Badger game last weekend.
On another note, Homecoming is a huge interest item already with our Homecoming week starting September 23rd. This year’s theme is “Superheroes”. A list of activities for Homecoming will be posted in the announcements next week.
We are looking forward to a great 2013-14!
