Schroeder’s Standard Service Donates to Athletic Fields

The Johnson Creek School District received another donation towards its new athletic fields. Charles Schroeder of Schroeder’s Standard Service presented a check for $3,000 to Superintendent Dr. Garvey. The campaign began in June of 2015 to raise $2.5 million for a new football field and track, game field for baseball, game field for softball and practice fields. With this recent donation, the total funds raised so far is $794,077.

Schroeder’s is located on 108 Aztalan Street and has been a fixture in Johnson Creek since 1935 when Charles’s uncle opened the automotive repair business.  “My father bought the business after my uncle passed away and then I took over in 1974,” Charles shared.  He added, “These fields are all about the kids and I wish them good luck.”

“The school district appreciates the support of businesses such as Schroeder’s Standard Service” said Dr. Garvey. “This project is dependent upon the support of our community.”

The “One Team, One Dream” website, www.jconeteamonedream.com, outlines all of the different levels of support and also includes diagrams and renderings of the project and different ways individuals and businesses can help the capital campaign. Additional information is available on the campaign’s Facebook page.
